Who We Are...

Pursestrings is a privately-funded, informal coalition of individuals from several faith traditions, including Christian, Muslim, Jewish, and Hindu parents from across Alberta. We have met mostly by email and are all frustrated that local media coverage fails to mention the proselytizing purpose of the shoeboxes.  

We do not believe that public schools and other publicly funded institutions are appropriate venues for Operation Christmas Child to use our children's enthusiasm, time and money to promote their specific religious beliefs.
